CASTECHAEA-10
Air-Entraining Admixture – ASTM C260
CASTECH AEA-10 is an air-entraining agent based on synthetic surfactants. Its efficiency is based upon the entrainment into the mix of a high number of correctly sized and evenly distributed air bubbles.

Overview
About
CASTECH AEA-10 is an air-entraining agent based on synthetic surfactants. Its efficiency is based upon the entrainment into the mix of a high number of correctly sized and evenly distributed air bubbles. It meets ASTM C260 requirements.

Application
Dosage
Typical dose rate for general concrete production is 50 – 150 ml per cubic metre of concrete. For low slump (<65 mm) and pavement concrete, and concrete with high volumes of fly ash, substantially higher dose rates of 100 – 600 ml per cubic metre may be required. Optimum dosage depends on the type of concrete, site conditions, mix proportions and the desired plastic and hardened properties; laboratory and/or field trials are essential. Air content is affected by sand, cement, fly ash, aggregates and other admixtures.
Application
Add CASTECH AEA-10 to the concrete mix using a dispenser, or manually using a suitable measuring device that ensures accuracy within ±2% of the required amount. When two or more admixtures are used, they must be added separately and must not be mixed with each other prior to adding to the concrete. For optimum performance, the air entraining additive should be dispensed on damp, fine aggregates.
