CASTAIDCEM AE 910
Air-Entraining Additive for Masonry Cement and OPC – Frost and De- Icing Salt Resistance
CASTAID CEM AE 910 is an advanced air-entraining additive engineered to provide controlled air entrainment in the manufacture of both ordinary Portland cement and masonry cements.

Overview
About
CASTAID CEM AE 910 is an advanced air-entraining additive engineered to provide controlled air entrainment in the manufacture of both ordinary Portland cement and masonry cements. Added during milling, it gives the cement enhanced durability and resistance to frost and de-icing salts, with improved cohesion, workability and rendering properties.
Typical uses
- Production of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) with controlled air content
- Masonry cement – improved cohesion, workability and rendering, with minimized segregation and bleeding
Standards
CASTAID CEM AE 910 meets the requirements of ASTM C465-85.
Compatibility
CASTAID CEM AE 910 is compatible with all types of Portland cement and blended cement replacement materials such as GGBS, PFA and limestone, and with all CASTECH range concrete admixtures.
Benefits
Advantages
Key advantages
- Formulated without chlorides, using a blend of anionic and non-ionic surfactants
- Forms uniformly distributed micro air bubbles in the mortar paste, increasing cohesion and rendering effectiveness
- Micro-bubbles act as lubricants, enhancing workability of the cement paste
- Reduces segregation and bleeding for a consistent, stable and uniformly textured paste

Application
Dosage
The recommended dosage of CASTAID CEM AE 910 is 0.02 – 0.08% by weight of cement to achieve the desired air content. Dosage may vary depending on clinker type, type of cement mill, desired mill output and cement performance, and should be optimized during plant trials and actual plant use. Dosage outside, or double, the guideline range may result in excessive air content, delayed setting and reduced compressive strength. Contact the CASTECH technical department for guidance on use outside the recommended range.
Application
CASTAID CEM AE 910 is normally added on the clinker belt conveyor before the cement mill using a suitable metering pump. It can also be added to the first chamber of the mill; the addition point should be decided jointly according to actual plant conditions. Suitable for ball mills and vertical roller mills (VRM).
Packaging & storage
Packaging
CASTAID CEM AE 910 is available in IBC, 200 kg drums and 1000 L bulk tanks upon request.
Storage & shelf life
12 months from date of manufacture when stored under warehouse conditions in original unopened packing. Extreme temperature/humidity may reduce shelf life.
Health & safety
Do not mix with other products without advice from the manufacturer. Should the product freeze, some crystals may appear, which will disappear on agitation or when the temperature rises above freezing. PPE: Suitable protective goggles, gloves and mask must be worn. Precautions: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water; in case of contact with skin, wash off immediately with soap and water. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Hazard: Regarded as non-hazardous for transportation. Disposal: Do not reuse containers. Dispose of as per local rules and regulations.
