CASTECHFLEX
Single-Component Elastomeric Acrylic Weather-Resistant Coating
CASTECH Flex 202 is a single-component, water-based acrylic coating that forms a tough, flexible, elastomeric, and durable film.

Overview
About
CASTECH Flex 202 is a single-component, water-based acrylic coating that forms a tough, flexible, elastomeric, and durable film. It provides resistance to weathering agents, including ultraviolet radiation, sunlight, frost, and rainfall, and can be used as a solar-reflective coating on new and existing roofs.
Typical uses
- Protective and solar-reflective coating for sloped concrete roofs and profiled metal roofs.
- UV protection for sprayed polyurethane foam.
- Coating for concrete, lightweight concrete, and wood.
- Terraces, balconies, and wet areas, including kitchens and bathrooms in residential buildings.
Benefits

Application
Surface preparation
Concrete must be sound, clean, and free from dust, loose particles, and contaminants. Repair cracks and potholes using a suitable concrete repair mortar. Clean metal surfaces of rust and scale by wire brushing or grit blasting. Where required to seal pores and stabilise the surface, use CASTECH Flex 202 diluted with 20% clean water as a primer. Apply by brush, roller, or spray and allow the primer to dry completely before coating.
Application
Apply by brush, roller, or airless spray. For airless spraying, the supplier permits approximately 5% water dilution to reduce viscosity. For brush or roller waterproofing application, use undiluted material. Apply a minimum of two coats. Allow each coat to cure completely before applying the next. Inspect the first coat for pinholes and surface irregularities before recoating. Apply the second coat at right angles to the first.
Consumption And Film Thickness
Waterproofing
Apply 0.9–1.0 kg/m² per coat. The supplier states a theoretical 0.5 mm DFT at this application rate. Two coats require a theoretical total of 1.8–2.0 kg/m², excluding primer and application losses.
Solar-reflective coating
Apply 0.5–0.6 kg/m² per coat. Maintain a roof slope of 1:75 to avoid ponding. Actual consumption depends on substrate profile, porosity, and application losses.
Important Application Notes
Drying, recoating, and full-cure times are not specified in the supplier TDS. Confirm suitable waiting times for site conditions.
Packaging & storage
Packaging
20 kg plastic pail.
Storage & shelf life
Store tightly closed in a cool, dry, shaded warehouse, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. In extreme tropical conditions, use cooled storage. Excessive humidity and UV exposure may reduce shelf life. Shelf life is 12 months from manufacture under the recommended storage conditions.
Health & safety
Wear protective clothing, goggles, and gloves. Avoid skin and eye contact. Wash skin with soap and water. Rinse eye splashes immediately with clean water and seek medical attention. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet.
