CASTECH WP-820 is a waterproofing admixture in liquid form for concrete, to achieve high resistance to water ingress. It significantly reduces water absorption of concrete. CASTECH WP-820 is a chloride-free organic admixture supplied as a colourless, clear to slightly cloudy viscous liquid. It does not significantly modify the characteristics of fresh concrete and mortar, nor the compressive strength.
Typical uses
CASTECH WP-820 is suitable for any concrete structure which requires water tightness. It may be added with the concrete batch water and should not be mixed with any other admixture prior to being introduced into the concrete mixer. The use of this admixture does not require changes in normal batching procedures.
Compatibility
CASTECH WP-820 should not be pre-mixed with other admixtures. Other admixtures (e.g. PC-5000M) used in concrete containing CASTECH WP-820 must be dispensed separately. Consult CASTECH Technical Services Department for advice.

Application
Dosage
The optimum dosage for CASTECH WP-820 to meet a specific requirement should always be determined by trial mixes. Typical dosage rate is 1.0 to 2.0 litres per 100 kg of cement. Other dosages may also be used depending on the specific requirements. Consult the local CASTECH field representative for assistance.
Application
CASTECH WP-820 should be added separately to the initial batching water to ensure complete distribution throughout the mix. Use only drinkable water – do not use seawater, bore water or water containing a high dissolved mineral content for mixing concrete.
Curing
Like all cementitious products, concrete made with CASTECH WP-820 must be protected against rapid drying due to high temperature and/or strong wind. The use of wet hessian, plastic sheets or a curing compound is highly recommended.

CASTECH WP-820 is available in IBC, 210-liter drums and in bulk tanks upon request.
Storage & shelf life
CASTECH WP-820 should be protected from extreme temperature. Should the material become frozen, it must be completely thawed and thoroughly mixed before use. Shelf life is 12 months from date of manufacture if stored in a well protected area away from sunlight, at ambient temperature in dry conditions.

As with all chemical products, caution should always be exercised. Protective clothing, such as gloves and goggles, should be worn. See packaging/MSDS for specific instructions. Treat any splashes to the skin or eyes with fresh water immediately. Should the product be accidentally swallowed, do not induce vomiting, but call for medical assistance immediately.
