CASTECHCURE WB 90
Water Based Concrete Curing Compound
CASTECH Cure WB 90 is a water based concrete curing compound based on inorganic polymers. It is supplied as a white emulsion which forms a clear film on drying.

Overview
About
CASTECH Cure WB 90 is a water based concrete curing compound based on inorganic polymers. It is supplied as a white emulsion which forms a clear film on drying. This film prevents excessive water evaporation, resulting in more efficient cement hydration, reduced shrinkage and increased durability. CASTECH Cure WB 90 Clear is for all applications in normal temperatures. CASTECH Cure WB 90 White pigmented grade is recommended in hot climates due to its light reflectance properties, minimizing solar heat gain.
Typical uses
- Large area concreting such as airport runways, floorings, roof decks, precast concrete, roads and bridgeworks
- Low water content concrete where high compressive strength is required
- A more effective and economical alternative to hessian and water or polythene curing regimes
- Suitable for use on all concrete surfaces
Standards
ASTM C 309 Type 1 & 2 Class B, ASTM C 156, AASHTO M148.
Benefits
Advantages
Key advantages
- Improved curing of concrete enhances cement hydration and provides durable concrete
- Minimizes potential for surface cracking and shrinkage
- Very effective in dry, windy or hot climate concreting
- Available in white pigmented grade, minimizing solar heat gain

Application
Application
Stir CASTECH Cure WB 90 before use to ensure even dispersion of the ingredients, then spray on the surface of fresh concrete as soon as it is free from surface water. Do not apply if bleed water is forming or present. Cross apply twice for adequate curing. After spraying, no further application of water or other material is necessary. The surface should not be disturbed until it can bear surface loads, and the film should not be walked on before it is fully dry. CASTECH Cure WB 90 may be applied to newly hardened concrete immediately after de- shuttering; the surface must then be damp, not dry.
Coverage
5 – 8 m²/litre (coverage depends on surface finish, porosity and texture, as well as application techniques).
Packaging & storage
Packaging
5 litre, 20 litre and 200 litre containers.
Storage & shelf life
12 months from date of manufacture when stored under warehouse conditions in original unopened packing. Extreme temperature/humidity may reduce shelf life.
Health & safety
PPE: Suitable protective goggles, gloves and mask must be worn. Precautions: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water; in case of contact with skin, wash off immediately with soap and water. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Hazard: Regarded as non-hazardous for transportation. Disposal: Do not reuse containers. Dispose of as per local rules and regulations. Additional information: Refer to MSDS (available on request).
