Overview
About
CASTECH Rel VB is a ready to use, biodegradable release agent based on vegetable oils. It ensures high quality, fair faced and stain free concrete with excellent surface finish. CASTECH Rel VB contains corrosion inhibitors. CASTECH Rel VB reacts chemically with cement to impart excellent release properties to treated surfaces. Concrete cast against surfaces coated with CASTECH Rel VB exhibit a smooth, hard, uniform finish. CASTECH Rel VB has no negative effect on the properties of concrete nor will it impair the adhesion of subsequent surface treatments when applied at the recommended coverage rates. Release Agent

Application
Surface preparation
All moulds must be dry, clean, and free from rust, concrete, oil or other materials prior to application of CASTECH Rel VB. Moulds should be protected from dust storm or rain during
Application
CASTECH Rel VB can be applied by all manual methods including brush, roller or spray. It could be applied using cloth wetted with the material. CASTECH Rel VB should be applied in a continuous even film as thinly as possible. Use a suitable nozzle size when a sprayer is used. Avoid applying in excessive amounts to prevent surface dusting and sagging. Concrete can be cast immediately after application or several days later. However, moulds or formwork with absorbent surfaces must be re-coated if casting take place after more than three days.
Demoulding
After use, the formwork or mould should be brushed or wiped clean of any excess dust prior to re-application of CASTECH Rel VB for the next use of the mould.
Coverage
The coverage rate for CASTECH Rel VB is 30 to 70 m²/liter when spray applied depending on smoothness and porosity of the formwork used.
Equipment Care
CASTECH Rel VB may usually be left in spray guns or sprayers without detriment, but with certain types, there may be some softening of rubber seals with prolonged contact.
