Overview
About
CASTECH Rel UR is a high-performance, oil-based form release agent specially formulated to provide clean, fast, and easy release of concrete from formwork. It consists of carefully selected mineral oils, corrosion inhibitors, and wetting agents that produce a smooth, stain-free concrete surface while extending the service life of formwork. CASTECH Rel UR is suitable for use in hot and tropical climates and is recommended for both precast and cast-in-place concrete applications.
Typical uses
Steel formwork Timber formwork Plywood formwork Plastic moulds and shutters Precast concrete moulds Concrete batching plant equipment Ready-mix truck drums and chutes (to prevent concrete build-up)
Benefits
Advantages
Ready to use—no dilution required Provides clean and easy stripping of formwork Produces high-quality fair-faced concrete finishes Reduces blowhole formation Minimizes concrete adhesion to formwork Protects steel formwork against corrosion Extends the service life of formwork Non-staining to concrete surfaces when applied correctly Economical due to high coverage rate Suitable for use under hot weather conditions

Application
Application
CASTECH Rel UR is supplied ready for use.
Before application
Ensure formwork is clean. Remove dust, laitance, rust, old concrete residues, and
standing water. Apply one thin, uniform coat using
Airless spray Low-pressure spray Roller Brush Avoid excessive application or ponding. Remove surplus material using a clean cloth or sponge. For best performance, apply immediately after cleaning the formwork and allow the coating to remain undisturbed before concrete placement. Timber formwork performance improves after repeated applications due to gradual impregnation of the wood surface. Do not mix with water or other solvents.
Health & Safety
Avoid prolonged skin contact.
Wear suitable
Protective gloves Safety goggles Protective clothing Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flames. Refer to the latest Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
