Overview
About
CASTECH Cure AR is a white liquid curing compound based on acrylic resin which cures to form a clear, non-penetrating, seamless membrane over new concrete. It prevents rapid water loss during the early hardening stage, improving the efficiency of cement hydration, increasing durability and reducing the chance of plastic shrinkage cracks.
Typical uses
- Concrete construction
- Concrete repairs
- Grouting works

Application
Surface preparation
No special preparation is required before the application of CASTECH Cure AR. Surfaces must be entirely free of oil, grease, paint, corrosion deposits, dust, laitance or other surface deposits.
Mixing
CASTECH Cure AR is a single component product. Stir thoroughly to mix any solid fillers that may have settled at the bottom of the drum, until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. Do not add thinner or any solvents.
Application
CASTECH Cure AR is applied by low-pressure hand operated spray equipment, as a fine spray, to the surface of freshly placed concrete as soon as possible after surface water has evaporated. Hold the spray nozzle approximately 2 feet away from the concrete surface and pass back and forth to ensure complete coverage. Do not apply if surface bleed water is present or forming. CASTECH Cure AR can be applied to dry concrete after the formwork has been removed; however, the substrate must be dampened with clean water prior to application.
Coverage
Theoretical coverage is 4 – 5 m² per litre per coat; a minimum of two coats is recommended. Actual coverage depends on wastage and surface profile and can be 20 – 30% or more higher than the theoretical coverage.
Packaging & storage
Packaging
CASTECH Cure AR is available in 20 and 200 litre drums.
Storage & shelf life
12 months when stored in a cool dry environment in factory packed, unopened containers between 5°C and 25°C.
